Thursday October 6th, I received a dreaded call about a horse that had fallen out in its pen. And with the help of Panhandle Equine Rescue, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and all of the different community members that assisted us-we ...were able to recue these three horses. Toby, Big Daddy and Jesse James. Each at varying levels of malnourishment. Due to their mistreatment and disgusting living conditions they were in the beginning stages of colic and Toby was in a full blown colic state. Big Daddy has a horrible injury to his right eye that may end up blinding him on that side. Jesse James has had years of mistreatment. Panhandle Equine Rescue has been in Jesse’s life since 2008. We are happy that we are able to take Toby and Big Daddy in and we are so grateful to Panhandle Equine Rescue for their care for Jesse James. Care for these animals will require much cost. We are asking that the community reach out to help us to save their lives and give them the opportunity for a better life. If you would like to assist Horse Rides of Pensacola or Panhandle Equine Rescue in the care of these horses please contact us. Every lil bit helps during these horses time of need! |
